I remember a while back when "everybody" had this issue due to DPI/PPT-settings. The word then was that this was not something MP could do anything about - so I would not hold my breath waiting for a "fix".

(... and in a optimal HTPC-world you should never notice DPI/PPT-settings)

    Thanks Sprangleknas!

So what do HTPCers do about increasing Windows fonts? Is there another, better way to zoom in or enlarge the text or ?

Did you install Power DVD orsomething like this? I did, and since then I got this Problem.
I can fix it by entering Setttings/Movies/Video Codec an choosing the already chosen codec again (!?) . Strange thing I cannot explain yet. Any ideas anybody?

I have the same problem here. After installing, and uninstalling PowerDVD I experience a very slow video and music database entering. And ofcourse the black screens. When I start a movie the first 4 seconds are black. MP isn't stable anymore.
All the fixes in this thread are no help to me.
    Anyone any new ideas?

None of this all worked for me.
What did the trick was turning off hardware accaleration of powerdvd 7 in MP config.

I also had no sound/picture issues w/CyberLink - but only with some audiocodecs and -renderer (or combination of these).

Found a fix that worked for me

I have had problems for weeks and weeks, installing XP, Vista, service pack 1 or no service pack 1.... code a, code b, etc etc.

But now by accident I found this (and thx to this topic)
    - Config
    - DirectShow Filter Control
    - Enhanced Video Renderer Settings
    - Now enable Use Enhanced Video Renderer

After enabling this MP works like a charm! It is really way faster with loading a movie and finally I can watch a movie in full screen without having to min. max. screens

    Hope this helps someone.
