    Hello everyone,

So I seem to be having a lot of trouble with MePo lately with my new build HTPC. I am using SAF 6.1.2, default skin and have the latest Moving pictures, however when I try to play something through the video, it also plays in the left upper corner. I found something about changing settings within windows media player, but because I am using WMP 12, I couldn't find the settings that the OP was talking about.

I'm running windows 7 x64 with MePo 1.2.3. Any help would be great.

Here is a link to what happens

One more thing, When I play stuff through My TV Series, it starts in full screen. Weird!

What file type are you playing?

I see an AVCHD logo in your video.
Can you check if the extensions '.bdm' & '.bdmv' are added in MP Config -> Videos -> Video Extensions.
If not, please add them and see if that changes anything.

If that doesn't help, please supply logs so we can try to determine to problem. Instructions for this can be found in my signature.

Thanks so much HomeY. I added the .bdm and .bdmv, but the problem still happened. I followed your instructions found in your signature and started it in the Debug-Mode. I didn't have the moving pictures plug in where I filmed the problem but I was able to reproduce a problem by using the video button. The problem isn't that it starts in a small window, but it starts hidden. If I select the "now playing" action then the video starts playing. Here are the logs.

I took a look @ your logs (and the developer of Moving Pictures also did) and there seems to be an error related to your TvPlugin. This error also pops up when you start the movie:

Could you try to temporarily move the TvPlugin.dll to another folder and see if that changes anything?
If that doesn't change things, someone else needs to take a look @ your logs to find the problem.

Thank you so much for the help. Really thank you for your help. I will give that a try as soon as I get home tonight and Post back.

Now when you say move the TvPlugin.dll to another folder, does it matter which folder? Can I just put it in a folder within the folder it is in? BTW where is it?

I will let you know that I am using MSsql 2012 so maybe that has something to do with it? I also will update my specs so that those trying to help are not using old data.

    Thanks

    You're welcome ;)

To be sure i would move it out of the folder, and not into a sub folder. Just create a temporary folder somewhere and put it in there ;)
You should find the plugin here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\plugins\Windows

I will let you know that I am using MSsql 2012 so maybe that has something to do with it? I also will update my specs so that those trying to help are not using old data.

    Thanks

I haven't got an idea if MS SQL 2012 is supported, to be honest. At least (according to logs) there is something wrong. :(
TNX for updating system specs ;)

(Maybe @Deda can have a look at this?)

    hi,
It looks something wrong to connect to your tv server and it surely trigger the issue.
You can rar/zip tvplugin.dll and remove the dll after that, like this tvplugin will be not in use.
I don't know if it's related to mssql 2012 or not but for sure you have error related to tvservice and PS (power scheduler) maybe you can try to disable it too.
    Thanks :)

You are all to kind for helping. Thanks again. I'm not very computer literate so I have a few questions...
    hi,
It looks something wrong to connect to your tv server and it surely trigger the issue.

Ok. So you think the problem with playing movies has to do with the connection my client is trying to make to my TV server?

You can rar/zip tvplugin.dll and remove the dll after that, like this tvplugin will be not in use.

If I zip this dll, should I post it like I did with my logs or are you suggesting that I zip it so that it removes it from the system (kind of an alternative to moving to another folder)?

I don't know if it's related to mssql 2012 or not but for sure you have error related to tvservice and PS (power scheduler) maybe you can try to disable it too.

I'll also remove the power scheduler. Now is this a plug in in the TV server that I should disable or in the client? I'll leave MS sql 2012 alone at this time ( I think someone else said that it was working for them so I installed it instead of MySql as I was going to also use for the record to schedule TV recordings once I got my TV card working (which now seems so far away).

Once I do these changes should I re-post the logs (don't answer this, I'll just repost them :) ?

    -S

PS. Got my system spec's update.

    Thanks :)
In fact zip it or move it, it' just to remove it from plugins\windows :)
I use zip method and delete dll, like this when i want to put it back i just have to extract it :p
By removing it MP will not try to load tvplugin and then maybe don't trigger the issue we see in log.

About PS, i didn't use it but i think there is both plugin in Setuptv and configuration.exe to disable.
Keep running MSSQL2012, it can work alone, just need to avoid connection for MP and see if it's better or not.
