Here we go. First off, I can say that things are working a little better. When I tried to resume a movie from a stop point, it was not working now it dose. I zipped up the tvplugin.dll but left it zipped in the folder where it belongs (so effectively removing it). Remember when I run stuff in the debug mode, it takes out the moving pictures, but when I tried to play a video, it worked without a problem. Here are the logs from that. Tell me if you think it is fixed and now how do I go about fixing my tvplugin.dll if this is the problem.

Note that I didn't change the power scheduler stuff.

    Yeah looks better :)
So it's tvplugin related but why lol, i notice that you use VMR9 renderer and not EVR (for win7 EVR is recommanded).
About debug mode, MP Disable all third party plugins but normally keep TVplugins running, so if it works then i assume another plugin trigger the issue on Tvplugin (not 100% sure) but it look that way.

Try again with tvplugin and set EVR in configuration / codec section :)
    Thanks :)

So I was so excited when you said that just changing the renderer to EVR might solve it that I ran the debug without enabling the TVplugin.dll and got a GREAT experience! The video played right away , no pausing before starting and in full screen. It paused and when I left the video, it even resumed from where I left off. I then read the rest of your post and when back to install the TVplugin.dll, ran in debug mode (but now with renderer set to EVR) and the movie didn't start in the foreground, but it started. I had to use the playing now action to bring the movie to the front :-(

So does this mean it is the Tvplugin.dll? As always than you for the assistance :)

I don't think the problem is in the TvPlugin.dll file itself, but in the connection with your database (so MS SQL 2012), because the PowerScheduler plugin also has problems connecting. Not sure what the bottleneck is, but it's either MS SQL 2012 or a 'bad install'.
    Code:
2012-07-10 20:34:41.196018 [ERROR][MPMain(1)]: PS: Cannot connect to local tvservice to load settings

I recently ran ForTheRecord + MediaPortal TV Server (not Argus) on my server (MySQL) without problems, so you don't need MS SQL 2012 for that.
Since there are errors, i think it's best to re-install the TV Server part of MediaPortal and go for MySQL. Unfortunatly all TV Server settings are stored in the database, so you'll have to configure that part again.

HomeY, Thank you for trouble shooting this with me. I see your point of the bottle neck since the PowerScheduler plugin also had problems. So I'll try a re-install of the TV server part. For some reason I though that For the Record preformed better with MS SQL, but at this point if it works with MySQL I'll go with what works. I really don't have any TV server settings as I am still setting up so nothing lost really.

So should I preform and uninstall of the TV Server and leave the client, when reinstall? Since I have to install MySQL, I'm thinking that it might be easier to just wipe everything and start again from scratch.

    Thoughts?

Thanks again to both you and Sebastiii

If it was me, i would start from scratch.

Best thing to do is first make a backup of your Program Data folder (C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal), since that's were all settings from MediaPortal config & plugins are saved. Do a complete uninstall of MediaPortal + TV Server and after that remove the MS SQL install (unless you use that for something else also). Then do a new install, and you might wanna go with MP 1.3Alpha right away, to get a bunch of new features. ;)

p.s. You might wanna check the TvWishList plugin. It's not exactly the same as ForTheRecord, but has a lot of the same functions.

So you think that the MP1.3 Alpha is stable enough for someone like me? I always love new features, but sometimes the bleeding edge of technology can leave me feeling anemic when things don't work and it leaves the wife really upset.

I agree with your idea of a new install. Will start that this weekend and thanks for the link to TVWishList Plugin. It might be a nice balance between For the Record and just the standard recording scheduling system.

I've been running/testing the 1.3Alpha build for a while now, and it seems rock solid to me, but it is an Alpha so i can't promise anything. There is a problem with analog tuners, so if you use that, go for v1.2.3. You also need to check if the skin/plugins you (want to) use, are already updated for 1.3Alpha.

In general I'd recommend not to use alpha (or beta) builds on productive systems, unless you're ready to get in trouble with the misses....
... not saying that I wouldn't do it myself.

Thanks guys. OK I want to try the 1.3 Alpha, but I cannot seem to find the d/l link. I though there would be a link under the download media portal, but there isn't. I guess it keeps the riff raft out.
