CPU Type: 1xXeon 5000 series
HDD: SATA
Memory: 12 GB
Motherboard: SuperMicro X7DA8
Video Card: Nvidia 7950

The mouse cursor is hidden during the StreamedMP loading screen but then comes back once the UI loads. It never disapears. I have to manually scroll it off the edge of the screen. This is annoying.

I didn't always have this problem. I'm not 100% sure when it started but I think it was went I upgraded from the last RC to the 1.2 Final.

I've read other posts about this problem but my .xml file doesn't have the directive people speak of and I'm not sure where to add it. Plus I read that this particular directive is never used anywhere, anymore.

What could be causing this and how do I fix it?

Thank you for any help.

Hi mrceolla, have you tried see what happens with the mouse disconnected?

    Hello,

    Was that a joke?

I actually don't have any real mice connected. I have a non-official MCE remote with mouse pad called Vista MCE Remote Control (VRC-1100) as well as a compact Riitek wireless keyboard w/ mouse pad (RT-MWK01). The keyboard is mostly never on.

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks.

No, that was not a joke at all since there are people that use their HTPC with a mouse for other tasks as well.
Sorry, was the only thing I could come up with.

    Ok, thanks Peter2.

Anyone else? Any developers have any input? Do I need to send in any additional information?

Have you enabled the 'always on top' setting in MP config or any custom mouse/cursor settings that you did?

AW: Why won't my mouse auto hide?

    Hi,

I had the same issue some time ago when switching from XP to Win 7.
My solution was this little program "mausraus.exe" I found then.
It does nothing more than putting the mouse cursor to the lower right corner, just out of sight.

Just save this little program anywhere and put a shortcut for it into your autostart folder. Now on every booting your mouse cursor hides in the lower right corner.

    Hope I could help.

Please check your MediaPortal.xml. In earlier versions this was an optional setting. If you reused your MP settings (upgraded) it could still be set to "Do not hide". I don't remember the setting name, but it should be in there somewhere. If you can not find it, please post it here (check for user/password entries first).

    Hello all,

    Thank you for the replies.

I did not have 'always on top' selected. I did select it but there was no change in regards to hiding the mouse.

The only entries I have in MediaPortal.xml with 'mouse' in the name are:

    CentareaMouseOkMap = yes
    mousesupport = no

Would you still like to see my XML file?

I read other posts about an 'autohidemouse' entry in the XML file but mine doesn't have that. I did a fresh install of one of the 1.2 release candidates and have been upgrading since then.

I fear this MausRaus program will not help me. Each time I switch inputs of my TV back to my HTPC, my mouse re-centers itself on the screen, and of course, never hides.

Could this mouse-not-hiding problem be related to another problem I had, described here?

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...-size-resets-after-changing-tv-inputs-101270/

mm1352000 suggests at the end of the thread that "MP can't properly detect whether it is running in full screen because the screen resolution reported by the video driver and/or Windows at the time are incorrect".

    Any other suggestions?

    Thanks again!
