Hi folks,

Currently I'm running an XP SP2 based dedicated mediaportal server using 2 Floppy-DTV-S2 cards.
To run the BDA drivers for those cards I have to at least install 2 XP hotfixes:
Windows XP Hotfix - KB896626
Windows XP Hotfix - KB885222

I'm planning on replacing my very old dedicated server with a new PC with the aim to:
- extend the capacity to store music and movies
- add 2 DVB-T receivers allowing me to view/record additional public broadcasts

As I'm moving to a new machine I would like to run Windows 7 (32 bit) on is.

2 quesitons:
- Is mediaportal 1.1.2 dedicated server compatible with Windows 7
- Will my Floppy-DTV-S2 cards be able to run BDA drivers and be used in Mediaportal 1.1.2 dedicated server on this configuration.

Maybe one of you has already tried something very similar?

Hi Sikkek,
That is good news.

On the question "Is mediaportal 1.1.2 dedicated server compatible with windows 7" that is a "yes", I presume.

On the question "is the floppy DTV compatible with windows 7" there is a good chance the answer also is "yes", as the DVB-C and the DVB-S2 should be fairly similar to driver approach. (OK I know, that's a big assumption)
How did you proceed to install the BDA drivers on your windows 7 system?

sikkek,
Thanks. I've been running MP1.1.x stable on W7 (both server and client) for some time now.
Over the week-end I planned to do an upgrade to MP1.2.
Guess what: It took me less than 30 minutes to upgrade server and client.
