will Mediaportal work alongside WMC? (2 Viewers)

Hi
I am completely new to any media PC software, having just bought a revo nettop for this purpose.

I have just downloaded mediaportal but i'm worried that if i run it, it will muck up my mce in some way? is this right?

I want to use them both for a while to compare them.
BTW I am using win 7
