Hi guys
I'm buying a new desktop PC.
Will these specs be able to run MediaPortal easily without the computer being slow, etc.

They are:

Packard Bell iMedia 1569 PC

Intel Core 2 Duo 1.86 GHz E6300 Processor (1 Ghz FSB, 2mb L2 Cache)
64 mb dedicated nVidia Geforce 7300se Graphics (up to 512mb with TurboCache)
1gb DDR RAM
200gb HDD

I am especially concerned about the graphics, which are only 64 mb (dedicated).
With the TurboCache feature on, they can go upto 512mb, but won't this slow the PC down?

Thanks for your help!

If you keep your desktop resolution low ie below 1024x768x32bit then 32MB will suffice.

64MB will be no problem .

Keep vsync on will help the PQ stability.

Keep AA, FSAA and AF at default settings as increasing theses will eat into video memory and not benefit MP PQ.

What is more important is the hardware acceleration of the gpu and its efficiency, this will be also affected by sharing memory compared to dedicated gpu card memory.

It is ironic that some full spec DX9 cards with low/poor hardware acceleration of DX functions can be outperformed by a DX8.1 card the that has software based DX functions handled by the cpu in their drivers just because the cpu is much more powerful.

The GPU and drivers are the most important aspect in getting MP to run smoothly espeacialy when the GUI and VIDEO are displayed at the same time.
