First let me say I am all knew to this but not computers.

I am wondering if this computer will work?

I would put a video card with svideo in the agp and the pvr 350 or 500 in the pci.


Also I have searched and found conflicting answers about the video out on the happ. pvr 350 (or even 500). Does it work with mediaportal or not...Thx alot for your time.

Not enough ram, hard drive size is way too small for recording tv, video card won't cut the mustard for your video needs, and as to video out you should just get a video card that comes with tv-out, rather than relying on a tv tuner pci card.

thx for the reply but i meant mostly will the form factor work and the pc as a core will it work. (this pc will act as a whole setup,no servers) As for upgrades ive been looking at:

the fx 5200 gfx card (agp)
obviously bigger hd
another 512 ram
pvr 500

how does that setup sound?

the one thing is that this sff case needs is low profile cards which the 5200 is but I have been unsuccesful finding a low profile tuner card (especially dual tuner).

We used to use these at work, and they are great if you just need what comes in them but are a pain if you want to do anything else. Low-profile cards can be hard to find, the parts are squeezed in there pretty tight so there's not much room to customize, and if you are thinking of putting a DVD drive in it, you will need to go slimline on that too.

I have been happier with Shuttle machines; they are small, but you can still put full-height cards in.

What you save buying this would give you a real headache trying to upgrade.

Dell's are also renowned for there elite drivers for there systems, which tend to have no working relationship with outside components supplied by other manufacturers.
