I have an issue where the main media portal program takes up the entire screen but when ever I play a movie I get black bars on all four sides not just the top and bottom like it should be. My movies are all blu ray iso. Would I be able to correct that by using this program? Thanks.

I think you should try to test different zoom modes before.

Sounds to me like you have "Original Source Format" choosen.
Like in this screenshot:
Bring up the context menu while a movie is playing (press F9 or right mouse click) -> Change aspect ratio -> Try different modes
