Win7 - Unable to start graph (1 Viewer)

Hi y'all!

Before I installed Win 7 I had no problem with the tv server. I run tv-server and client on one and the same machine ,by the way. So the easiest and most obvious solution to my problem would probably be to go back to XP. But guess what?? I don't like the easy way out:D.

So here I am, pounding my head at my very hard and uncomfortable desk. Witch is very painful by the way. Sometimes I actually don't have to heart my head, as for some reason I manage to get a TV-picture. But most of the time, 99.5%, all I get is that annoying "Unable to start graph!".

I have searched the forum with no luck, except an old bug report that stated that this bug was now fixed:confused:. Must have been for Windows Vista or XP...

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Regards
Patric

PS
My TV-card works fine under Win7 when I use the software (TerraTec Home Cinema) that comes with the card.

I can only tell you the exact error message:
Code:
2010-10-02 20:09:40.353995 [(23)]: WaitForPMT: Timed out waiting for PMT after 10,000572 seconds. Increase the PMT timeout value?

Hope this will ring a bell for someone.

I had the same problem, there is a post somewhere on the forum helping to fix the issue. As far as I remember, you launch Media Portal Configuration in debug mode (with --debugoptions parameter if I remember correct). Then you see new option (it was debugoptions) somewhere and tick rebuild graph option on and everything starts working.

Sorry for the very vague answer there, but I am not at home and will not be for sometime so cannot help it in a more clear way. Try searching the forum with debugoptions, tv graph or sth like that

thanks a lot,
i tried this for me once, didn't work for me ... :=)

solution for me :=) finally after having problems over 2yrs with MP and satellite signals (these errors)...

buying a new TV Card .. selling my old one (terratec cinergy s2 hd) -- replaced it with a mystique satix-s2
no problems at all since then :=)

its something related with the signal strength. and how your card deals with it... somehow ;=) :mad:

good look, and also thanks to narsor for responding!
everyone owning a terratec card :=) my proposal: buy one of these :=)))))) :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: :mad:

I heard people complaining about Cynergy, especially with weak signals also, I think you made a wise decision there. If I weren't using MDAPI and a cable tuner card, I would also be looking for sth else

Well, I found a workaround by inserting my program card. After that there were no problems, but as soon as I remove the card and try watching free channels I often end up in that annoying error message. Medaportal isn't very stable in this, but I have absolutely no problem with that since it's opensource (not expensive) :D

any solution on this?
thanks a lot :=)

I have a CI-slot for my Terratec in which I can insert a card to watch coded channels (ie non free channels).

//Patric

what do mean by "program card"?

best regards,
mike :=)
