Hey

I have a small problem and it bothers the hell out of me. My HTPC is running Windows 7 and using network shares from my server. The harddrives on the server spins down, when there's no activity on them for more than 10 minutes to save power. But... when I start my HTPC and start Mediaportal, it does not spin up the harddrives. And because of that, the importer does not run. Even when I have spinned the drives up from Windows Explorer and the network drives are marked as "green" and available, they are still marked with a red cross in MovingPictures configuration. I have to manually try to add a folder on the drives and cancel it, to make the MovingPictures importer run.
I'ved tried to Google it, because it seems like a Windows 7 issue, but has been unable to find anything useful.

Any ideas?

Hmmm, weird. I have almost the same configuration (Win7 + mounted NAS drive + downspinned RAID drives) and have no problem at all. When I access a movie after a night of sleep, the drives spin up and the movie starts after a few seconds. Same on boot: network mounts are done and MovPic importer does its work.

Strange situation... I guess the logs won't clear up the problem? I have absolutely no idea what the cause may be. Do you have your drives mounted with the option "Reconnect at logon"?

I'm pretty sure it's an Windows 7/Vista issue, with marking network drives with an red x, when spinning down. Just thought others might have experienced the same and had a solution.

I can see in the Mediaportal Wiki that they recommend using UNCs, instead of network drives. Might give that a try in the weekend, when I've time to restart my db again.

Oh, I can see this has already been reported as a bug:
Issue 513 - moving-pictures - Plugin sometimes can't restore disconnected network drives - Project Hosting on Google Code

    My bad.

So your using mapped drives? If so then just navigate to the network location instead I do it this way with win7 on both mediacenter and server with raid5 and spindown enabled, works fine.

Sorry, I can see that wasn't very :sorry:clear. - Yes, currently I'm using mapped network drives (persistent).
