I am trying to build a new 1.1.2 multi-seat setup (I've been running MediaPortal 1.0.2 for a long time on another PC). I'm trying to use Windows 7 (64-bit) and am having all sorts of problems. But, they seem to have started happening since I moved my Hauppauge Nova-T 500 cards from my old server in to the new one.

Has anyone else had weird problems with Windows 7 and Hauppauge Nova-T 500 cards? They tuned okay, although one of them didn't get all the freeview muxes, so I just disabled those tuners for now. But when I try and do a timeshift test on the one that did tune, is takes ages to lock, i got an "unexpected error" popup with no text in it. Then it won't stop the timeshift when I press the button.

So, it seems a lot of these problems are to do with using older hardware on a newer version of windows.

If I can fix the problems then that'd be great. But if it's going to be a big problem then I would rather just buy newer hardware. So any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hmm, it seems to be fine today. I've rebooted the PC and applied all the outstanding windows updates and it works great now. Timeshifting (in SetupTV) works within a second. I just tried out Live TV on my client PC, and that works too.

So, I am happy again. Something had obviously got into a mess which the reboot sorted out.

I'd rather have all 3 dual tuners working, but 4 will do for now.

I did include the logs in my original message, as there wasn't anything to include. SetupTV would just hang everytime I selected a tuner in the left had tree-view.

Hmm, strange!
Okay, well thanks for letting us know. FYI: please do post logs if this happens again (even when you think it isn't worthwhile) because even if there is no error it could give us an idea of what was happening when the error occurred. That context might be the difference between finding the issue and not finding the issue.

[Edit: do you use powerscheduler to put your HTPC to sleep and wake it up again?]

Sure, will do.

I now have a link to the log file folder on my desktop, as it was also locking up when I clicked the "Open Log Folder" in SetupTv

Oops, I just noticed I typed "I did include the logs" in a previous message. That was obviously a typo
