Hi,

I installed RC4 yesterday and it works well except live tv playback is not so smooth but otherwise it is very stable for me, not like 1.0.2, there was a memory leak while watching tv.
The thing that bothers me is when i listen to the music and in around 15 minutes my tv screen goes black and in order to bring it back i need to use mouse or keyboard.
I also had this behavior when watching tv for 15 minutes and going back to tv guide but after i set windows7 to never turn off monitor i don't experience it anymore.
So my question is why my screen goes black even when i set windows7 not to turn off monitor and how to fix it, if possible :)

Thanks in advance

Hi,
I have no screen saver enabled.
I checked the logs and there is nothing there so i don't see the reason posting them here and it is not mp issue but windows7 when monitor turns off even when power plan was modified to never turn off monitor.
So i need to try to update graphics card driver and check if my mb has power management regarding display, which i doubt.
I will update post once i sort it out.

Thanks for your input guys

There is no drivers for fx5200 for windows 7 on nvidias website. But i used the ones from windows update and tried to use the ones for vista but this didn't help.

Conclusion:
Either try different graphics card or revert back to xp.

Have you also turned off the screen saver in mediaportal configuration. (however the screen saver should not load during video playback, only music)

Do you mean visualization under music section? If yes that there is nothing set in there.
I am just doing test on windows 7 itself, leave it on desktop without mouse connected to pc and in 15 minutes i will know for sure if it is windows7 or mp.

ahh no there is an actual screen saver in MP Config, you can choose between screen blanking, or lowering the fps to save power. however this is unlikely cause of ur problem bc it shouldn't load during video playback.

It doesn't do it during full screen video playback, my tv goes dark when listening to music or leaving my pictures window opened.

I performed a test leaving windows7 on desktop without a mouse for 20 minutes and my screen didn't go dark, so it is mp.

I will try to find this option in mp.

    Thanks a lot!

What you descibe is normal behavior, when the MP option for Screensaver is enabled (inside MP-Client config-> General->Screen Saver)

it is not normal behaviour for the built in MP screensaver to load during video playback, otherwise it would blank the screen every time you watched a movie.
