Team has had no access to Windows 8 RTM so we cannot support it at the moment. After Windows 8 RTM is available in the public this fall then we will be able to go thru QA steps to make sure that we are compatible and if not then adjust some of our code.
Typo, it's August 15th. Gives enough time to October 26th for testing out basic comparability. Other issues might take longer.

Everyone who is not a developer (means, he can fix code) and asking for RTM support now is just a pirate. No support given out of principle!
What's wrong with this one?:coffee:

"The evaluation edition will expire and cannot be upgraded."

Would require reinstallation when W8 is out. No thanks.

Now it is ok. But before August 15th there was not even an MSDN release. Only OEMs already were given access with the reason of final comparability tests with their hardware.

Anyway, don't use Win8 yet for a production system. Only a few devs have MSDN access and we are testing for potential issues ourselves. For broader testing you should wait until we officially announce Win8 support.

And remember the public Win8 Eval version is for testing only. I think it is not even upgradable...

    • The Windows 8 Enterprise 90-day evaluation is available to developers to build and test Windows 8 apps on the final version of Windows 8.
    • Consider running the evaluation edition in a virtual environment or installing on a separate hard drive or partition.
it doesn't need to be your only OS:cautious:

It's strange. I have it running on one RTM box, no problems at all, but I can't get it working on another box... same Windows version... damn :)[DOUBLEPOST=1346006722][/DOUBLEPOST]

You *could* just run it in a VM... they have 3D and all the fancy stuff as well now, so you should be fine for testing... :)
