    My set-up consists of:
    A. Single-Seat configuration on a Win7/Prof/SP1/64x PC with MP 1.8
    B. Remote Client configuration on a Win7/Prof/SP1/86x PC with MP1.8
C Connection is with WiFi /n router at server end connecting to adapter at client end. As network has no internet connection the firewalls have been de-activated and all drive sharing has been enabled The client can directly access all drives in the single-seat PC.

The problem is that TV does not work at the client end. This is in-spite of the client's clearly recognising the server and the "test connection" facility in the MP client returning " connection established". When the "TV" button in the client home screen is clicked nothing happens.

TV works perfectly at the single-seat end and videos on drives there stream perfectly to the client.

I feel I must be missing something very simple and would be grateful for comments.

Sorry about not including log files - thought problem would be easily recognisable without them.

The (now attached) log file relates to the following operation sequence:

start MP>navigate to and click "TV" icon>click "TV" default on sub-menu (screen flashes but nothing else happens)>return to "TV" icon>navigate to and click "Video" icon>select "Fashion_DivX..." sample file on root of "L" drive on "media-PC" server>click file (it plays OK)>stop & exit MP

Thanks very much for your assistance.

    Hello again

Logs show you've somehow managed to disable the TV plugin.
    Open MediaPortal configuration.
    Go to the plugins section.
    Enable the TV plugin.
    Close MediaPortal configuration.
    Open MediaPortal.
Select TV... and now it should work.

    Regards,
    mm

Many thanks. I'd completely forgotten that I had disabled the TV plugin. I had the server PC off the air for a couple of days and I was trying to stop the "cannot connect" messages that were regularly coming up and (sometimes) causing the client PC to freeze. When the server was back I guess I'd sort of assumed that the "Connection to TV server successful" message in the config app meant that everything was clear to go and forgot about the plugin.

Thanks again - as my wife (a Whanganui girl) always says "When you have a problem - ask a Kiwi"
