    Hi mickdo,

shutdown, standby and hibernation are working fine here with MP in System tray.
Btw is your system shutdown with MP not minimized?

I have the same problem. With Mediaportal minimized to tray windows will not shutdown. When exit mediapotal using the tray icon and the selecting shut down from the start menu all goes fine.

    Confirmed with MP 0.2.0.0 and 0.2.0.0 + mediaportal-svn-07-14-2006--01-02-Rev9493.rar

Please remove all 3rd party plugins (ANY plugins that do not come with MP, incl. PVR Scheduler, etc.) and try again. If that still does not work, try a clean install with an empty config, please.

Mine is/was with clean install, no 3rd part plug-ins etc.
I just partitioned and formated my HDD. Installed Windows Xp pro and only the required programs to run MP.

I noticed this behaviour (no shutdown unless exit MP) with MP 0.2.0.0 after the clean install.

yesterday when I installed a SVN (the first since the clean install) I noticed that this behaviour was still there.

Choosing shutdown from the MP menu when MP is full screen results in MP minimising, and the taskbar vanishing. The only way to get the task back is by killing explorer.exe in Task Manager, and then starting explorer again. All the while MP is still running...

Yes, i have the same problem. With 0.2 minimized, i can't close the system. I need to close MP first

I have exactly the same problem, too. When I'm trying to shut down MP, it won't work because MP is still running. Even when the symbol in the tray has disapeared it's still running and has to be killed using the task manager.

But Stand-By is not working better: After stand-by windows won't log me in automatically anymore. Bad if you've just a Gamepad to control MP :p
I'm using TweakUI and changed the registry to avoid this problem but I didn't manage it yet :(

    There's no patch, workaround,....? :(

Is it possible to replace the command that is triggered when pressing Shutdown, with a batch file that does the same but correctly? :p

(edit) Yeehaa, fixed it somehow. I don't know exactly what I did but now it's working on my HTPC as supposed. I think I disabled some options in the setup.

    - Hide Taskbar in fullscreen mode
    - Minimize to tray on GUI exit (i think that was the problem!)
