Windows7 screensaver does not deactivate with remote (1 Viewer)

When I use the Windows 7 screensaver of a photo slideshow with MP. I can't deactivate it with the remote. The remote operates MP in the background with the screensaver over the top. Is there anyway to fix this?

I was a bit surprised that MP doesn't have a slideshow screensaver. There's a great one in XBMC and I used it to display old movie posters when friends would come over to watch a film. Sometimes they were more fun than the film!
