WinXP won't go into standby mode when MediaPortal is running. (1 Viewer)

If media portal is running, then as soon as WinXP goes into standby mode, it immediately wakes up. If media portal is not running, WinXP will enter standby mode and remain in standby.

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi flyte,

Is this a single-seat installation (ie. Tv-Server and MediaPortal), or just a MediaPortal client on its own? If it's got Tv-Server on it as well, it would be useful to see the tv.log file also.

However, I can see the following events that might go some way to explaining the situation:

(MediaPortal resumed automatically to continue recording?)

As I said, I'm not familiar with the ShowTimes plug-in, and if this is a MediaPortal client only installed on the PC, then perhaps I'm not of that much assistance either. I'm running a single-seat installation, and I don't do any manual standby of the PC - I just let Tv-Server handle all the standbys and automatic resumes, via PowerScheduler.

Cheers,
Craig

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I am using MediaPortal in a single seat configuration, and I do not have TV-Server set up.

Good point about the ShowTimes plugin - I forgot about that. The plugin will fetch the next 7 days worth of movie listings for the configured theatres in my area. I don't know when exactly this happens, but it is possible that a fetch was in progress when I manually tired to enter standby. (It is a process plugin).

I will investigate further.
