I am running MP 2.5 with WMC skin installed. I noticed that the TV-Recording menue item is not always displaying after wakeup from standby. After turning MP off and on, it works. Any thoughts about this?

Many thanks
Clemens

Do you mean this menu item? Please upload the client and server logs after the problem occured, so we can check if there is any suspicious.
I tried to reproduce and couldn't see the issue here.

yes, this is exactly what I meant. As I mentioned, the problem does not arise consistently and I will upload the log files once the issue appears again.
Many thanks for looking into this.

Sorry, for my delayed response. It took a couple of days to reproduce the error. Attached, please find the log file after MP2.5 started without displaying the "recording" menue item.

Many thanks for looking into this.

    Hi Greenhorn7
I have a similar issue, see my post here:

    Have you solved this issue?
How many programs in total do you have listed in your Recordings folder?

    Thanks.

no, the issue is not resolved yet. currently, there are about 30 tv shows in the recording folder but the problem also occured with only few (less than 10) entries.

If the MP2 developers are not available to investigate your problem, you might want to consider using one of the other MP2 skins, although I realise that the other skins are quite different from the WMC skin (so might be a bit of a "culture shock" for a WMC user).

    Hi Greenhorn7
Your issue may or may not be connected to my issue.
So when your issue is present, perhaps you could try changing your skin from your current WMC skin, to my Nereus skin. Then see if you get the same problem as me.
And if you do, at-least you will be able to play your current recordings (albeit with some difficulty)
You can always change it back to the WMC skin later if you wish.

I've just tried using your WMC skin, but when I scroll down to [TV] ... I get the large-text-[TV], with the [TV-image] below it, (like in your first image above) but below the image, I get the smaller-text-[TV] ... instead of your smaller-text-[Recordings]

Then if I click on the TV-image, I get the EPG listing, or it may be the live program listing, I'm not sure which.
So, I can't see how I could select the Recording-menu, as the smaller-text-[Recordings] doesn't appear.

    Hope that all makes sense?
    Thanks.

This thread/problem has been ringing bells for me and with the delay in a response from developement... I am an MP1 user but in the past I have tested several versions (pre release) of MP2 and I am sure I ran into a similar or possibly the same problem but can't for the life of me remember the fix. I am sure I reported it at the time (would have been in the Dev. forum) but can't find anything. Again from a fading memory I believe the section was missing both in the WMC and Nereus skins but I still suggest the OP gives a different skin a try and, in my case at least, it was a user problem (maybe the Recording folder not selected/setup properly as a "Share") as opposed to an inherant failure.o_O

Sorry, I didn't get a notification for unknown reasons and was quite busy. I checked the log files for any hint why the recording menu entry is not shown, but unfortunately could not find any. There is an UPnPServer error and the file share could not be reached, but this should not affect the lading of menu entries. I could assume a timing issue during startup. But that's only a guess. We have only one developer remaining, so I can only try to tag him, maybe he has a guess @Brownard.
