WMV not playing.... (1 Viewer)

I am not sure if this is MP related or not, but I cannot seem to play WMV files recorded off the internet. WMP 11 plays them just fine, but when I try to play them in MP, it tries to play them, flashes first frame on the screen and goes back to UI. Trying to play it again results in dialog prompt to start from the beginning of from the spot I supposedly stopped watching it last time (0:01). Any idea what this could be related to? Would appreciate any help.

I have posted this in another forum, but i have the exact same problem, it would be nice to know if there is a solution to this.

By "recorded" do you mean normally downloaded or do you mean intercepted a streaming wmv? Reason I ask is because the latter can sometimes be problematic with screwed up indexes and the like, something that WMP might just be more resillient to.

Care to provide a sample link so we can see if its the video itself thats causing problems?
