Wondering If tv-server can help me (1 Viewer)

Ok, I have recently obtained a pci express 1x Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 1800. Now the only problem is my old computer only has 1 pci express and my 8400 gs is in it which allows me to run my hd content. I have recently bought a new desktop with a pci express in it. So what I was wondering if i could use my new pc running the tv-server software and have my old pc be a client and continue running media portal on it with out having to return the hauppauge 1800.

I have read some of the manual but this is my first dive into the htpc world and could use a little guidence.

The answer is yes... Just install the TV-Server on the one PC and MediaPortal-Client on the other PC..... You do this by running the MediaPortal setup on both PC, on the one you select to install the TV-Server only...and on the other PC select to install the Client software only. After doing this, just setup the Client-PC to point to the IP-address of the TV-Server PC.
