WorldWeather plugin v1.10.0 for MediaPortal 1.3.0 and higher (8 Viewers)

It was just a question and not a complain, as you can see from the" ?"
Your fantastic plugin does not work after updating to 1.300 RC on my testsystem.
It does not show any weather information .
I wanted to use weather online as a provider, got a key and it worked in MP 1.3 beta. After the update nothing worked, although I also updated your plugin.
I was just asking for help or maybe a clue what i was doing wrong.

This sounds completely different now. The only way to find a solution for your problem is to give me more information about the plugin configuration (WorldWeather.xml and MediaPortal.xml from c:\programdata\Team mediaportal\MediaPortal), log files and a small hint, which skin do you use. Otherwise, and this you can understand hopefully, it's not more than crystal ball reading.

Worldweather works with new MP beta 1.3.0.0 ?? I get an error : missing or invalid file: c:/programdata\teammediaportal\mediaportal\skin\titan\worldweather.xml

as posted here before, the WorldWeather skin files are planned for the next Titan Extended update cycle. So maybe it's a good idea to take a look to the appropriate thread from time to time.

Not sure that my problem is exactly the same... I'm using MP1.3.0 RC with defaultwide and default skin and I get an error "missing or invalid file : " without the path following the error..

Another strange thing is that when using Titan skin on the basic home screen I found : #WorldWeather.TodayTemperature right to the date.

Any ideas?

From my perspective, it looks like that the plugin crashes due to a configuration/installation problem. It's not possible to give a valid answer until I know the root cause.

Guys, let's play with each other nicely.. I think that all of you are trying to comunicate with the very best intentions, no doubt about that. But I can understand micropolis his point on this. It's really annoying that someone is yelling "It's not working!" while you put so much energy and (spare) time in a piece of software like Micropolis does with Worldweather.

Micropolis is an example for almost every software builder in the world. He is publishing a lot of updates, a lot of support, and REALLY nice documentation for ALL the plugins he provide..

So be sweet to him, and be a bit more specific with asking questions.. include screenshots, logs and/or specific information to get optimal support here, and don't forget to search your answers yourself before asking it in a thread like this. That will keep our forums fresh and clean!

I don't like to act as a school teacher here, I mean; let me be honest; I love you all guys, and I know that Micropolis can speak for himself, but this is what I really need to say..

anything is wrong with your profile settings, maybe the XP related timezone number of a specific entry doesn't match to your local machine settings.
Please backup your existing profile and try the attached version, a feedback is welcome. Hint: You had enabled the history view, but doesn't enter a valid Weather Underground API key yet. I had disabled this option.

Another important hint: your latest machine update is XP Service Pack 3. After this release, some timezone related updates (for example see here) were published. Maybe it's a good idea, to patch your installation to the latest update level.

The config file you gave me works fine.

I've check the difference with my file and make some tests : the only things which crashes the app is when other standard profil (like new york) are still there. I've tried my first config file and delete profils from 2 to 10 and it's ok also with my config file.

Hint: You had enabled the history view, but doesn't enter a valid Weather Underground API key yet. I had
disabled this option.

In fact if the history view is enabled, i get a popup error message but the plugin still work.

Another important hint: your latest machine update is XP Service Pack 3. After this release, some timezone related updates (for example see here) were published. Maybe it's a good idea, to patch your installation to the latest update level.

I changed nothing related to this point and it's ok. But I'm gonna updated my virtual test machine to Win7 one of these days. ;-)

I notice an other difference between my config file and your config file : <entry name="VisibilityUnit">0</entry> is changed to <entry name="DistanceUnit">0</entry> on the same line 15. But I've tried both config and the plugin works in all case.

I've also try the plugin with Titan and of course the skin file doesn't exist (known issue) but the temperature is correctly displayed right to the date in the basic home screen.

"VisibilityUnit" is obsolete since version 1.0.0 and was replaced by "DistanceUnit".

@powermarcel10 has agreed to create Titan skin files in the near future, the first results can be found here. On the other hand I always assumed that Titan supports WorldWeather natively. I hope, the next version of Titan Extended contain the appropriate skin files.
