after updating to WW 1.1.1 stable I can no longer save my provider as World Weather Online. The plugin shows my provider key is reset to Foreca after Apply and Saving, then re-opening the config. The key value is still set correctly when reselect WWO as provider.

running MP 1.3 RC on 2 machines (WinXP and Win7)

    Hello pur_berger, 2BitSculptor,
... is it even possible to diaplay the graphics too? ...
Possible yes, but not planned yet.

... after updating to WW 1.1.1 stable I can no longer save my provider as World Weather Online. The plugin shows my provider key is reset to Foreca ...
Each time you open the configuration dialog, the provider key selection is set to the first value in the appropriate selection box. From my point of view, it does not make sense to save the last position.
In the case of the fact that you mean the current or forecast provider selection, this must be worked as expected.

    Cheers, Micropolis

Before the upgrade, my provider key was set for World Weather Online and worked without error.. After the upgrade, I could not enter the World Weather screens in the GUI, as if the plugin was not enabled. When I went to World Weather plugin config, the provider had been set to Foreca and the key button was ghosted (I did not set Foreca as provider). I tried to set the Provider as World Weather Online, as it was in last version, but it would not save. Each time I entered the config again, it was set back to Foreca. All other settings were correct, except that one, and it would not let me save the change, although I hit the Apply and Save buttons.

    Hello @2BitSculptor,
sorry, actually I'm not able to understand the problem.
The provider key selection box can be use to select, which provider key you want to configure. If a provider (in your case WorldWeatherOnline) requires a key, the key button will be enabled and you can enter your private API key in the appropriate dialog box. You can save your key settings, if your API key is not empty and you retype it correctly.
After this procedure, you can press "Apply" or "Save" to store your key (see mediaportal.xml, section "WorldWeather", key "WorldWeatherOnlineKey") encrypted. Everytime (with or without a valid key) you has the possibility to select WorldWeatherOnlien as your current or forecast provider.

... I tried to set the Provider as World Weather Online, as it was in last version, but it would not save...
Do you see a error message in your log files? Do you have replaced all required libraries including Micropolis.MPCore.dll? Do you can reproduce the issue, that the mediaportal key could not be saved correctly? Which version do you have installed previously? Is it possible to give me a better understanding about your click track or steps to reproduce?

    Cheers, Micropolis

I will now eat crow  (embarrassed)

WW config is behaving as you explained.
I found a (blush) typo in WW key on HTPC. I had forgotten I had to rebuild my MP install after upgrade to win7.

Sorry... and thank you for your help.

I have always thought that the geoclock day.png was too dark, and got lost in the night.png overlay, with a badly defined day/night edge. Also, I noted that the night image had an arctic polar ice cap and the day image did not. I took the liberty to combine/blend an additional earth image with day.png to brighten it up to contrast with the night.png, and add the arctic polar ice. This would go in the high folder.

I hope you approve of my changes. :)

Daylight savings time has started here and the sunrise and sunset time are now one hour off. It appears that they were moved forward two hours, not one. I'm running 1.1.1. Let me know if logs are needed, if this is a known issue, or if I just have the thing configured wrong. TIA.

    Hi micropolis,

I have seen that all your plugins are open source and have the Microsoft Public License. Where I can find the source code for the plugins.

    Thx

I created a button for World Weather in the Titan skin (basic home). Maybe this can be added to Titan extended? I also created one for RadioTime and uploaded this also to the forum.

I was having trouble loading the high res GeoClock images in WorldWeather on my client, due to running out of RAM on the 32bit Win XP. So to resolve the issue, I've altered the GeoClock images to fit the three sizes represented in the newer MediaPortal Skins, based on my brighter composite image above. I have both Day and Night images in 1920x960 (high), 1280x640 (med), and 960x480 (low).. originally the Low res version was 716x358 (suited for analogue TVs) in the old PAL skins. I renamed the images in the high folder and copied the medium res images in. Now my GeoClock shows up in WorldWeather.

Copy the WorldWeather that is in the zip to the skin/Media folder of your choice, to replace the GeoClock image files. The medium folder will not be recognized by WorldWeather, so to use those images you must copy them, as I did, to the high folder.

    Hope you find this useful.
