Are the new bitrates used for viewing and recording?
For me the bitrate of my TV has to be a user setting. For recordings it would be nice to set bitrates for each recording on demand. So you can make a longer movie fit to one dvd and record smaller ones with higher bitrates for one dvd.
For recording I used the combination of WinTVCap and WinTVCapStart. With these programs you could use different profiles (bitrate settings) and record to MPG instead to DVR-MS.

In CVS there is the file "WinTVCapWriter.ax" which is a part from WinTVCap. Is it not used in MP?
