Hi, I just moved from MCE Vista to MP - nice :D

My problem is that when I open Recorded TV all my recordings has the same recorded time and date - the exact time/date I entered Recorded TV menu???

Anyone know where MP gets the recorded date/time from - is it file modified date or from the filename (thereby takes current date/time as default if filen is in a nother format - from MCE)?

Thanks

I have the exact same problem and cannot find any description information either. I have quite a bit of recorded TV so would really like this to work.
Cheers,
Si

Is this from manual or EPG recording.

Information is normally copied from the EPG for filename.

    same recorded time and date

I only get the above happening to me, if i do a clean install with no database information saved.

The DVR-MS files are previously recorded in MCE2005, when I've done a fresh install of my PC in the past and completely reinstalled Windows MCE2005 it has always kept the date/time/description of previously recorded TV. I thought DVR-MS is just MPEG2 with an XML wrapper that has all the additional info such as description etc. Therefore thought that now I've switched to MP2.2 it would just read this from the file, maybe I've misunderstood exactly what a DVR-MS file is ?

Program information for dvr-ms files is stored in the TV database, so if deleted you loose all information.
I think this was on "the to do list" were it could repopulate database from file name.

With TVE3 recording in a different format, this is one thing that may have been put back support for.

Even the databases are due to change during MP's evolution, and a method of reimporting\converting old database information, has to be looked at.
