Wrong Episode (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I've been having problems recently in that when I try and watch an episode it occasionally seems to randomly choose another episode in the same series and season. Very annoying especially when they show recaps at the start so you see stuff you haven't seen yet.

Also after I've finished watching an episode it occasionally sets the watched flag on other episodes in the same series and season to watched as well.

Are these known bugs? Do I have to rebuild the database or something?

It's very weird because it labels them all fine, correct filenames and episode writeups it's just when I select an episode it seems to just run the wrong file. Seems to be happening more and more recently.

Is there a later version other than 0.9.5a?

For the record using the inbuilt My Videos and browsing to the episodes they always work.

Thanks

Do some of the filenames contain 720p or 1080i/p or something similar? It could be you have the same weird issue with it linking episodes when it confuses 720p to mean its also episode 20 of season 7 etc.

Please check the dev. thread on how to solve this. And yes, a db rebuild is never a bad idea (but you will loose the watched flags)

Mm these were the exact "symptoms" for my 720p/1080p files and after the update with the exclusions it works like a charm :)

Yes pretty much all my tv shows have 720 in them.

I have an example which happened yesterday.

    3 episodes of jericho

    jericho.s01e20.720p.hdtv.x264-ctu.mkv
    jericho.s01e21.720p.hdtv.x264-ctu.mkv
    jericho.s01e22.720p.hdtv.x264-ctu.mkv

I went to play episode 20 and it played episode 22.

What am I looking for in the dev thread?
How do I rebuild the database? Sorry I'm a noob.

yup, that is exactly the problem that was fixed a couple of days ago.

    Easiest thing to do:
Delete the database in MP\database named tvseriesdatabase4.db3

Download the latest tv-series SVN build (look for the thread in this forum).

Set up your options again, but dont import yet.
Go to string replacements and add replace 720p with <empty> (and also if you have such shows 1080p with <empty> and 1080i with <empty>). On those three make sure the "Before" option is ticked.

Reimport your shows and forget about this issue.

If you need a more detailed explanation I'M sure someone will step up.

    Many thanks for the tips.

I've done all of the above and fingers crossed. The only thing is that the string replacements don't seem to be saving. When I come back into the configuration all my other settings appear to be there apart from the 720p stuff I added.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
