So I setup MP to do a schedule record session via the EPG. It did indeed record a show, but when I played it back, it was the wrong channel, though the channel it said it recored, the show title, and show description were all correct. I even tested changing channels via EPG, and it all seemed fine, so I'm really confused as to why the wrong channel was recorded. Just wondering if others have had this sort of issue, or is it just unique to me.

Thanks to all who reply.

Hi,
It is hard to answer without knowing a bit more details, like:
on which card did it happen? If it is on Twinhan do you have a diseqc switch in between lnbs and tv card?
Do you have a set top box connected to tv card and use blaster to change channels?

I had same Twinhan card before and the problem i had is that diseqc wasn't switching to correct lnb and it was all due to twinhan and i had to try different diseqc switches.

 No it is the ATSC tuner card (HVR-1250). This card is directly connected to an OTA antenna system, there is no external box. The Twinhan, though is physically in the box...it is not properly installed anymore.

The setup works fine if I physically change channels trough the EPG, so I know the channel mapping is correct (verified by actually going into the TV server setup and going over the channel mapping just to make sure). I have even done an "record now" on a show and that worked fine too.

The thing I did notice was that when selecting the show, an overlay opened which allowed me to select alternative channels and dates. Moving the cursor up/down would automatically select these alternate channels. I could unselect by moving the cursor past them again. Now I don't recall if one of these alternate channels was the one that was actually recorded or not. If that was the case, then there could be a bug in the fact that you can select/deselect channels but it doesn't actually take them out of the scheduler. Could this be the problem? I'll have to experiment more tonight...and also review my remote's button mapping.

As there is no intermediate possible cause than as you say it is most likely that you selected wrong channel or application performed it by itself. I am running mp 1.0.0 so i can't confirm if it is the case.
When selecting epg entry which is not in current time not dark blue (the light blue one), there is an overlay which shows all entries on all channels for the same program.
As you say it could be a bug that it doesn't remove scheduled when you deselect recording in epg overlay. Just do a few tests and you will know for sure. Once you identify that this is a bug, delete all logs, reproduce a bug and upload the logs. Note that i have never reported a bug myself before so not sure about correct procedures.

Sorry Paranoid, I didn't notice your reply until this morning. I check tonight when I get a chance to play with it some more.

Yeah, I'm going to issue a bug report I guess. I setup to record again last night, and again it recorded the wrong channel...though it was the same channel recorded as last time. I made sure not to select any other channel, only the one I wanted. Seems the mapping between the EPG and channel list is incorrect, but then, I goto the guide and select a channel, it will switch to the proper channel fine. So I don't really know what's up. I played around a ton with the TV Server configuration to try and get it to work.

Question, how does the EPG data associate to the actual channel list? What I mean by this, if I select a channel in the EPG, how does it know which channel to goto? I think I understand it...well, I thought so...but maybe someone can set me straight.

If you are going to file a report:

1. Do it in the RC versions forum
2. Follow the guidelines (no logging is present here!)
