Can someone set the record straight for me regarding microsoft wtv hd files. I record them on a PC which does not run MP and they are added by My TVSeries to my list of TV shows on my HTPC which is connected to the HDTV. OK so far.!
But... they dont play in MP. They play OK when I use the Windows Media Player on my HTPC but MP 1.2beta wont play them at all. I get a bit of sound and then lock upor a still image of the first frame. All other files including H264 etc. etc.. play fine.

I use Core AVC to play other H264 files but it doesnt seem to want to play wtv. Is there another codec I should be using ??

wtv files will not play, the only solution I know is, right click on file, select convert to dvr-ms. when finished converting should now play in MP, but you will loose any metadata that was in file, beware.

Mmmm.. When I try and convert these wtv Hd files I get an error saying they are not compatible with dvr-ms. Ordinary standard media centre recordings convert fine. So if they wont play and I can't convert what are the options for playing these in MP.??

Yes they are HD . If I can play them with Windoes MediacEntre why cant I play them with Mediaportal? What codecs are required , I thought MP had everything built in these days!
