Right, certainly an "extender" is one such feature worth consideration; however, this is a sensitive word in the context of DVR's because MS has coined it as an RDP-fashioned relay (e.g. sort of a terminal services derivative/hybrid-codec).

I originally wash pushing uPnP quite a bit, which I believe is now underway. If this were developed a bit, you’d have a pretty clean client-server media server setup which would address most of the arcane “extender†issues.

My point was regarding simple things that make XBMC nice, that would be even better if integrated in MP. For example, the possibility for directory aggregation, which is absolutely critical for those who are familiar with DVD/video archives (and unlike many paradigm altering feature requests, this is relatively trivial). Of course native .ISO format is one initiative I’ve always said I would be happy to contribute, and something nice with XBMC, although I don’t expect it’s on any development list for MP.
