Ok, now before I get flamed by a mod, I have searched and found the info about the Xbox Remote, which I believe is for the old Xbox remotes, NOT the Xbox 360 remotes. But I will stand corrected if need be.
I have found numerous posts by people asking for help with the Xbox 360 remotes, but very little answers.
I have an IR receiver that came with the Microsoft Media Centre Wireless Keyboard, and the eHome drivers installed correctly.
I have installed the IR Server Suite and enabled the MCE remote in that, as someone suggested in another thread, but I still can't get it to work.
The remote I am using is the one of the left, so it doesn't have the volume or number buttons.
Some of the controls work, play, stop, back etc, but not the directional controls or OK, which are fairly essential for navigation!
So yeah, if someone can give me some hints as to what I could be doing wrong, how IR server suite should be configured etc that would be great.
