XmlTV plugin import from xmllistings.com gets 68 channels, 0 programs media portal 2 summer 16 (1 Viewer)

mp2 is fine and happy with live tv and recorded tv. However I cannot import my tvguide.xml file. I get 68 channels recognized, but no programs (no, the data is not out of date).
Here is the beginning of my tvguide.xml file and the transition from channel definitions. I downloaded this file from xmllistings.com. I note that the elements for the program are not exactly the same as shown in the wiki.
Has anyone had experience with tv listings from this source?
