Hi guys,
I'm having a couple of problems trying to get an EPG/TV guide import working. There is a new-ish site in Australia called epgStream.Net, which provides a free XMLTV download service. A sample of their TV guide file is attached. I can download their file just fine - it's just the xmltv plug-in in the TV server which is causing some issues.
If I do an import of the TV guide through the TV-Server Configuration app, then it imports OK and all the programs load up - check the attached log for entries that start at 21:20:41 and and 21:21:41 - these are the log entries from when I manually initiated the import through the config app. As you can see, it imports all the channel and program data.
However, if you look at the log entries at 21:21:17 and 21:22:17, for example, you'll see that it reports "No programs found" - these are the entries for when the server did its automatic import. The strange thing is that the very first time I downloaded the tvguide.xml file from epgStream.Net, the server did an automatic import and loaded up the data OK (ie. when I looked at the TV-guide in MP client, it was populated). But now every subsequent automatic import is not loading any program info in. What could be the problem here?
The second problem I'm having is with the channel mappings in the XMLTV configuration. You'll notice if you look in the attached tvguide.xml that the first channel for broadcaster "10" is 1.digital.ten.au, with a display name of "TEN Digital". Then there's a couple more channels - one of which is 10.digital.ten.au, also with a display name of "TEN Digital". Then, when all the program details start, they are assigned to 10.digital.ten.au. The problem is, though, in the XMLTV channel mappings, it only lists "1.digital.ten.au" as "TEN Digital", not "10.digital.ten.au". That means I can't map the "tuned" channel 10 to the correct tvguide channel, so that the programs populate correctly. This is obviously just a coding issue - the drop-down list is presumably only displaying the "first" guide channel for each distinct display name.
So, I guess the crux of my questions are as follows:
- does anyone in Sydney, Australia have the epgStream.Net service working with MediaPortal (either using the XMLTV plug for TV-Server, or some other method)?
- is there any ongoing development of the XMLTV plug-in for TV-Server?
- any pointers on how I can resolve my issues?
Thanks in advance for your help,
Cheers,
Craig
