Youtube Webm (1 Viewer)

Hello,
first I want to say that I love MP and Online Videos, as a german in american excile
Recently Youtube added Webm as a format for their videos, and I can't play those files.
What do I need to do to get this going or disable webm files?

I am running Windows 7, MP 1.1.3.0 and the latest version of OnlineVideos.

They run fine here on Win7 with LAVSplitter installed. (you need x86 for MP).

Hello offbyone,

I followed the link and tried to install Lavfsplitter (0.31) , but when I try to register the assembly, I get the message The module "LAVFSplitter.ax" failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug... The specified module could not be found. Do you have an idea what cause this message?

Never mind,

I got it registered, but still can't play Webm files.
Do I have to tell MP to use those codecs?

Actually not should work this way. I can check later what codecs play this format.

As you can see in the screenshot the splitter alone is not enough you need audio and video codecs to play it.

I don't understand why you NEEEED to get webm playing if you can just select mp4 with the same quality... If you obviously don't know much about codecs why is it so important that webm is playing?

I have installed the dshow webm codecs. the mp codecs comes with mp, doesnt they?

I know i can select mp4 but what if my girlfriend press webm ;-) *gg*

I have SAF version 6 installed and WEBM files plays nicely. It should be also pretty easy to install for beginners, too.
It has it problems, but I've been pretty happy with it so far.
