Just tested patch V2.

No longer get direct3d error. But MP gets stuck on initializing directx.

Testing procedure.

1) Enable Autostart MediaPortal on windows startup.
2) Turn off programed MP start in windows scheduler.
3) Shutdown PC and turn off TV.
4) Turn on PC.
5) Wait for a few minutes.
6) Turn on TV.
7) Found to be stuck on initializing directx.

Regards,
Markus

First post says that Windows Update messed up things. It would be nice if you could identify the problematic update (KB number).

Have you tried to updating your drivers? I fail to see this as a problem in MP if there is no clear bug..

In the above patch, MP will try to reinit D3D (20 retry hardcoded value) if it failed.
It seems that trying to only get capabilities is not enough and always failed, so i change to try a reint :)
Let see how it does :)

    Hi,
All drivers are up to date the last time I looked.
I have had a similar issue I while ago. But it appeared that after the windows update it came back.
    I will test V3 today.

Just tested V3. Same end result as V2.

Added screen capture of task manager and it shows Mediaportal as not responding.
