I noticed something that I probably should have seen before. From Videos > Menu > Video Settings > Folders, at the right side is a statement: video icons are disabled globally. No apparent way to change it. How did that happen? And how can it be changed?

Sure would like to know why the icons worked for years, then suddenly stopped for new entries, and now doesn't work at all. Any guess as to something I inadvertently did to cause this? Thanks for looking. No strong reason for not upgrading. Just inertia and reluctance to change something that's...

Will do - thanks very much. I also looked at my list of recorded TV shows as big icons (usually list) Out of 17 single (not series) shows, 2 had actual pictures - the others just pics of film. Here are the new logs (without TV logs)

Well - I looked at the specified folder. It contained 13,755 jpegs -- none of which I recognized at a quick look, I cleared the folder --- now all 6 icon are black. I restored the folder content -- all 6 still blank. Tried restarting MP, and W7 then MP. Still all black. I think there must be...

Don't know why - but those extra copies I made disappeared. Only 6 mp4 files are in the directory. (maybe W7 'knows' that extra copies aren't needed?)

Are the icons generated on every Videos section visit, or once at MP startup? Any suggestion about what might provide more useful info?

Here are some log files, produced as follows: Start with 3 simple video clips copy them multiple times (over 100 copies) error log to debug start MP go directly to videos - display is 3 good icons and 3 black ones stop MP compress logs and attach I hope this is useful -- it was the quickest way...

Is there a known reason why icons for new videos should stop working at some point? I have several recorded videos (~200), and until recently,, each one would have an icon displayed when viewing the list (using either the view icons or big icons options). Now each new video icon is all black...

Aren't there any developers of test group people here that know something about radio streams?? Or is my problem posted in the wrong place?

The only other player option I have is 'internal dshow'. Tried it - same result, Other radio stream and many music files play fine. All other suggestions encouraged.

Will do as you suggest, and report back - thanks. All the links work from Firefox -- but that's not what you suggested. (and repeating -- my other streaming radio still works)

And on kjzz.org there is yet another streamer link -- which also fails with the same error. This sure seems to be an MP issue, related to BASS_ERROR_FILEOPEN. and BASS_ERROR_HANDLE. What is the problem??
