I'm sorry if I sound annoyed, but it seems we're talking around in circles. The MPC Video Renderer is a video renderer, not a codec/decoder.
Now please look again on the 'Video Renderer' tab ;) and hopefully you see what I mean.
In the Mediaportal configuration tool, when you go to Codecs and Renderer > Video Renderer there are NO drop down lists (as opposed to Codecs and Renderer > Video Codecs). That's what I meant by 'hardcoded'. MadVR was added some time ago on this tab, also in the 'hardcoded' way. It would be...
AFAIK it just registers as a Direct Show video renderer in Windows, the same as MadVR and every other Direct Show filter. In MPC-HC you can it select it in a drop down list, which also lists MadVR, Haali, the default Windows EVR en VMR renderers. Why doesn't Mediaportal follow this route...
Are there plans to support other video renderers?
MadVR got added a while ago, but this a 'hardcoded' selection in the configuration. It seems it's not possible to select any other renderer that is installed on the system, through a drop down list, like we can with codecs. I'm looking forward...
Would it be possible to configure the added language code for downloaded subtitles? Right now it adds 'English' and 'Dutch' to the filename, while I would much prefer to be able to configure this into 'en' and 'nl'. This is more compatible with other software, for example Plex.
Thank you aspik! It seems other parameters such as border / shadow is configurable as well, very nice.
You've read my mind about yellow too haha. Must be because I got used to it from the old days of hard subbed anime.
How can I change the subtitle color in MP 2.2.1? In MP1 this can be done via the separate configuration tool. In MP2 the configuration is moved to 'inside' MediaPortal, but there seems to be no option to change the color? Or am I just overlooking things? Any help is much appreciated!
Thank you for the clear reply, much appreciated. Of course decisions have to be made and it is impossible to satisfy everyone. Keep up the good work!
Since this is only the beginning of the 2.x branch (at least for us end users), I'm very much looking forward to how the default skin will evolve...
@ge2301 thank you for the fast reply. Yes I agree, overwriting the font is the quickest workaround. I definitely don't want to sound ungrateful, but could you please help me understand? Since I can just overwrite the font and get it working, it seems to me it is not a technical issue. So the...
Yeah same problem here with Korean characters. It can be fixed, but requires some text editing of .xml files, hardly end user friendly. I reported this earlier during the Pre1 build. I just cannot understand why the development team won't switch back to the font used in MP1. Everything worked...
@breese notified me that I had some directories mapped with non-media files (like .zip .rar) as media source. I made some changes excluding these directories. Unfortunately it did not solve the SQLite.Interop.dll fault. See new set of logs and eventviewer messages attached.
@morpheus_xx Thanks for the new installer. Before I try this, just a quick question to be sure: can I just update my current installation with this one? This won't prevent me from updating to the final release later on?
I decided to try the MediaInfo.dll from MP 1.15 (version 0.7.69). It turns out this version does not crash! For now I'll keep using this version.
However now MP2-Server.exe crashed on a SQLite.Interop.dll fault. See attached logs and entries from the eventviewer.
