O Frabjous Joy!
That seems to have done the trick.
Thank you so much for your help and advice, CyberSimian. I hadn't thought of deleting the various folders, but I'll bear that in mind for any future disasters. Now I can record King & Conqueror on Sunday!

I've just now uninstalled any MediaPortal applications, using the option for removing entirely, then tried reinstalling using the most recent update "MediaPortalSetup_x86_1.38.001_2025-08-07-08-11". This produces an error message, as attached - MP Error.png
The installation does provide a config...
Thank you harryzwo for replying. I'm pleased to hear that you experienced no difficulties in updating, but that actually makes me feel worse!

I've been running MediaPortal on my PC for several years, but the most recent update "MediaPortal 1.38 Release " does not allow me to view or record TV.
I've carried out a full uninstall, then tried to reinstall "MediaPortalSetup_x86_1.38.001_2025-08-07-08-11", which was working fine...
Thanks for the replies. However ...
I've already retuned using the "All Regions" setting and the HD channels do appear in the list - BBC1, BBC2, BBC4, ITV are what I want.
If I use the "Preview" button in Config I get the errors described previously. If I try to watch any of these channels on...
I have the most recent version of MP2, running on a PC with up-to-date Windows 10.
Until recently I have been able to receive and record UK HD channels, but this is no longer the case.
I've just retuned.
When I try to preview any HD channel in Config, I get an error message, either "Preview...
Interesting, unexpected and wrong!
As you indicated, the co-axial onnectors were at fault.
Nevertheless, your helpfulness has inspired me to get to grips with the problem, so, thank you very much again.

Thank you for your reply - I'm working through the list.
It crossed my mind that the absence of signal at on frequency suggested some sort of filter. I have an amplifier between the aerial and the tuner: having removed the amplifier gives a much improved signal for the group containing "Talking...
Thank you for replying so rapidly.
MUX ? I'm guessing something to do with multiplexing, but an internet search gives too many options to explore easily.
The group containing Talking Pictures TV has signal strength = 35, Signal quality 4%.
Other groups have signal strength = 40+, signal quality...
I use MP2 on Windows 10 64-bit. I use a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD USB device and a dedicated TV aerial for this PC.
I watch via terrestrial Freeview on the UK's Taclesneston transmitter.
"Talking Pictures TV" gives a very poor quality of picture and audio. All the other channels are fine. "Talking...
Thank you for your reply.
I have opened "MediaPortal 2 TV Configuration" and selected "Radio Channels".
There is a tab for "All Channels" and it contains the radio stations I want.
I have just repaired MP2 (again - it frequently needs this) and I think I am using the most up-to-date version...
I still haven't been able to resolve this problem. The radio stations are there and I can record a programme using the Search function if I know what it is called.
Is there anybody who can help?
Cheers

I use MP2.2.1 with a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD USB device on Windows 10. It is ten months since I wanted to record a radio programme, but the desire has now arisen again.
In the past, I could gain access to radio channels from the TV guide by clicking the < > symbols to toggle between radio and...
I use MP2.2.1 with a Hauppauge WinTV-dualHD USB device on Windows 10. Sometimes, when watching or recording TV, I get the audio channel which explains what is happening on screen for the partially sighted, rather than the actual audio channel of what actors are saying. How can I get the audio...
That did the trick, thank you.
I've uninstalled the Avast VPN and restarted MP2.2.1
No doubt Avast can be configured to allow the MP server, but I'm not that fussed!
Thanks again!
