Thanks @Brownard I've previously tried entering the servers IP address, but it didn't make any difference. So far the UNC fix seems to be working, we've had no issues tonight, but it's early days.

Changing the timeout's didn't work, so I've set them to use UNC, we'll see how we get on.

I've just set my two tempermental PC's to use the UNC option, only time will tell as my issue was quite random, hopefully it will fix it.

To answer my own question, yes it will if they are on four or less multiplex's. Just tried recording BBC 1 SD, BBC 1 HD, BBC 2 HD, ITV HD and CH 4 HD and it used just one tuner.
