But I also have good news - I have solved the issue.
I had tried to find an updated driver for the PCTV 290e USB tuner I have, but had no luck.
I then contacted Hauppage support to see if they had a new driver for it.
They eventually replied this morning suggesting to install their WinTV...
In regards to the laptop - I think this weekend was the 1st time I'd turned it on since the world went to bits in March - I used to use it when working from home - but now use my main work computer at home.
I ran windows update manually after verifying the Tuner / Media Portal worked ok on the...
Just tried the NextPVR and the issue exists there too.
What's the next step?
Any suggestions of what to try, or were to look to try to resolve?
Also if I rollback the windows update - will I have to reinstall all 3rd party programs, or will it maintain the ones I have?
Or do I get a new...
Hi Guys,
The update for for Windows 10 was only updated on my machine this week.
It was around that time that the issue seems to have started, but I can't say for sure as I didn't use MP for a few days after that.
It says on my system that Win 10 Pro version 2004 was installed on the 7th of...
Hi Joe
Not sure how I can plug a USB tuner directly into the TV - is that what you meant?
The TV signal is good during tuning, with good quality and signal strength, and all other TVs in the house are good and are fed from the same antenna on the roof - so I think that is ok
I decided to try...
I can't see where my system spec should be set - they used to be visible under the avatar
But they are as follows:
Windows 10
16GB Ram
PCTV 290e USB tuner
Issue happens with live tv and time shifting.
Hi,
My MP install has been flawless for ages, but has just started stuttering this last few days.
I rebooted, but it made no difference, then I upgraded to the latest version - 1.25-Summer 2020 - but the issue still persists.
No issues with the signal, etc, and a rescan picked up all the...
It's worth a go and doesn't take long to uninstall/reinstall, maybe to MP1.15 and try using the alternative TsWriter.ax
I don't know if it's possible to export setting/schedules etc and to import them into an older release.
But you could backup, rollback for testing, then upgrade and re-import...
My understanding was that the TsWriter does not directly affect power state, but that the modified version I used in MP1.15 works in such a way that it affects the power mode.
I am in Ireland, but in the North, in a UK Freeview area.
Also my issue was slightly different. I was getting the...
Which version of Media Portal do you have.
MP1.15 works well for me with the TsWriter.ax file mentioned above.
But the issue returned when I moved to MP1.20 recently.
Hi,
I had an issue before on MP1.15, where recordings were broken / stuttering due to the CPU dropping into a low power mode or something.
This is the thread: Tv Recordings Broken Video and Audio
Basically to fix the issue I used the TsWriter.ax file from this thread: [Finished] -...
ok - I read through both threads again, and I have selected and okayed the existing codecs.
It works now, so I am happy about that, but I think I might need to re-read the threads again to fully understand why I had LAV codec selected, but that somehow also I didn't have LAV codec selected o_O.
:)
Hi Guys,
This issue just started today.
Every time I try to play a recording, new or old, it crashes straight away.
Same thing if I try to watch live TV.
Recordings are fine, and can be played on VLC with no issues, even recording from after the problem 1st occurred.
Also, Previewing a...
Thanks for the advice, but I have that set already, and I also have USB Selected suspend settings disabled.
I have tried that in the past, increasing the priority in steps, right up to RealTime and it did not make a noticeable difference. That was on MP1.12, since the clean install of MP1.15 I...
