Possibly an easier way to do this is to simply create a new folder on your PC and put a copy of the zip file in there. Then double click on the zip file and because there is no .dat file you should get 2 new windows appear. One is the DOS box where the first line shows the version no. etc,

Attached is the zip file I have just downloaded. This is not a Windows install file but just a zipped version of the mc2xml executable. I tried to just give you the executable I am now using but .exe files are not allowed as attachments here! This should work with your existing .dat file "as is".
