Hi all,
I've just upgraded to RC3 (Singleseat) after using 0.2.3 for quite some time. It seems a good improvement so thanks - great work team :)

Unfortunately one thing isn't working under RC3 which was working fine under 0.2.3 - Hibernation, which ultimately stops me using it to record scheduled TV as I can't leave it on 24/7.

I've set Power Scheduler in both the TV-Server and MP config to hibernate after 5 mins of idle however when left on the Home screen it never hibernates. It also steadfastly refuses to hibernate from the Home screen shutdown menu. The shutdown and restart options work fine. Standby and hibernation do nothing.

Additionally, with MediaPortal closed, the hibernate option of the Windows shutdown menu no longer works.

If I stop the TVService via the Windows Services screen, the Windows Hibernation option then works again so it appears it is the TV-Server which is preventing the hibernation.

Attached (hopefully!) are screenshots of both the TV-Server and MP Power Scheduler options as well as the logs. For the logs, the TVService was already running and I started MediaPortal, waited a little bit then attempted to hibernate the machine from the MP GUI. Nothing happened. I then closed MP and the logs were created.

Hope someone can help!:D

Hi folks,
I think my problem is not related but COULD someone PLEASE point me to the right direction....

Configured both tv-server and mp-client to standby, but nothing happens,
the tv-server logs says:
[10]: PowerScheduler: User input detected at ...
[Powerscheduler Timer]: PowerScheduler: User input detected at....

though nobody is doing nothing
and these entries goes on and on
in some log I saw [4]: PowerScheduler...

ALL ideas appreciated
...thanks...

Isn't it time to start seriously thinking about upgrading to the 1.0.0.0 release? RC3 is two revisions behind. You won't get much support for problems on RC3 since it might already have been fixed (directly or indirectly) in subsequent releases. Even if you get this one issue resolved, you have to consider that you most likely won't be able to use any new features, skins, and plug-ins that require newer releases.

If you're stuck on RC3 because of limited hardware, perhaps start considering addressing those underlying causes rather than the symptoms.

    Hi Atreides

Isn't it time to start seriously thinking about upgrading to the 1.0.0.0 release?

He is right you know, I have upgraded to MP 1.0 and I use MP Standby Handler Plug-in and all works fine no problems with standby at all now.

A quick search for MP Standby Handler will find the thread with the download.

Yeah I am using 1.0 and I tried MP standby handler but it didnt work for me. I will try it again though what do you have for your settings?

EDIT so I tried to use MPstandby handler and it still isnt working. Here are my logs. I have standby handler to start and stop Mediaportal and TVservice. I am using a stand alone system. I really hope someone can help me.

    Hi Atreides
Ok my settings are, MP Standby Handler > Common Tab, Autostart ticked, Show Splash Screen ticked. Under Resume I have Hardware Device Restart set for my sound card, my DVB-T card, my DVB-S card and I have TV Service Restart set. Under Suspend I have TV Service Stop and MediaPortal Stop set.

You have to have the Power Scheduler Plugins enabled to use Standby Handler, in TV Server Config, Plugins, Power Scheduler, General, I have it set to Wakeup Server For Various Events, Shutdown Mode= Suspend. Under Advanced tab I have forced Shutdown unticked and Reinitialise service on wakeup unticked, EPG Tab no settings ticked and Processes Tab I have default settings.
In MP Config, Plugins, Power Scheduler I have Shutdown after X mins unticked, Only allow Standby when on home screen unticked and Shutdown Mode= Suspend. Under Advanced Tab I have, Forced Shutdown unticked and No Extensive logging unticked. With these settings all works OK on my set up.
