Hi guys,

Having used MP for a couple of years now up to and including 1.11, I have never had any real issues at all - until last Friday.

Initially the mySQL database became unreachable suddenly, and no amount of restarting the service seemed to help. Eventually MP started to randomly crash every 5 minutes or so, sometimes even taking the HTPC down completely (as in hard stop).

I uninstalled MP, mySQL and all traces of either that I could find on the machine, ran a full chksk on the main drive, and did a completely fresh install if 1.11 from scratch. That seemed to get mySQL back connected to the TVServer, so I reloaded StreamedMP.

After connecting it back up to the TV and HT, it ran nicely for about 10 minutes, then crashed the PC. Back to the workbench, and now MP crashes within a few minutes of launching no matter what. I changed back to Titan and Widescreen Default in case it was a skin thing - same problem.

Completely uninstalling and re-installing just about exhausts my tech support repertoire, but maybe some of you more tech-savvy guys can find something in that attached logs that may offer some suggestions.

I love MP, and I'd hate to think about having to go back to just watching TV, so any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.

Thanks for your time.

Mike

    Hello Mike

One of your SQLite databases is corrupt (...which means that the current problem has nothing to do with TV Server or MySQL). I can't tell which database is corrupt because the logs don't show MP starting up. Please post fresh log files using the watchdog tool with option 2 (start MP with plugins enabled).

    Regards,
    mm

Thanks so much mm. I've been trying to get Watchdog to generate some logs as you suggested, but so far as MP crashes, Watchdog throws an exception as well the never seems to finish the log generation. Could I simply uninstall the SQLite Browser and delete the SQLite databases (wherever they are), or is that just too simplistic?

    Thanks again for your help.

    Mike

I think that's probably the safest way, then I will just reimport them. So I should delete all the db3's in that directory? Just checking :)

    Thanks

You can delete them all... or delete one at a time until MP starts working correctly. I suspect the ones that are most likely to be corrupted are the MovingPictures, TV Series and Videos databases... in that order.

Brilliant - thanks. I'll work my way through them and let you know how I get on. I appreciate your help.

same issue as you.. just recently also!

only thing I changed recently hardware-wise was a new ssd for my OS and changed from win 8 to win 8.1
I have 2 pcs... the ssd pc has the tv tuner and works fine... the other pc over the network has the issue(networked pc is already on win 8.1)

Bummer! Mine ended up being a hardware issue by the looks of it. I had blown a CPU fan which crashed the box, corrupting the db's in the process. Replaced fan, deleted db's and rebuilt them from scratch. A complete pain, but so far looks like it may have worked - fingers crossed.

I hope you have some success with this one.

    Cheers
    Mike

Sounds like similar symptoms, but not necessarily the same cause. Therefore please post logs files from both client and server.
