I submitted a bug report as well.

When you try to launch a movie that is a dvd .iso, the screen flickers, and nothing happens. Even pressing enter/play again does nothing.

The .iso is being correctly mounted in DT. In fact, if you go to Videos, then browse to the .iso via the file system in Media Portal, it plays fine. It only refuses to play inside of Moving Pictures.

    Anything I can try?

Ok belay part of that - it appears if I press Ok or Play, wait a bit, then press it again it starts, although I swear it wasn't doing that before (probably me being impatient).

If I had to guess, MovingPictures isn't waiting long enough for the iso to mount up before giving up? Hard to tell but that's what it seems like. Is there some kind of delay that can be inserted before the default player fires up maybe?

    Will do.

Here's my debug log from a session where I launched MP, went to MovingPictures, and tried to launch an iso.

It does launch if I wait about 3-5 seconds and press enter again.

Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear. Please attach your movingpictures.log and mediaportal.log files. And please ensure you have debug logging turned on.

Ok the logs show that the mounted drive is not ready when the format detection/ playback starts. Work has started to fix the issue.

This 'double click' on ISO movies has been around for me since I first started using the plugin around 0.55; I thought it was a known issue?

.71 - ISO playback not working
hmm... I cannot confirm this characteristics- sry at all...
have tried the new version with my DVD-ISO-Files and afterwards with Blu-ray-ISO-Files and both of them worked "very well"
    thx 4 your efforts

    changed from 0.7 to 0.7.1
    a) no more crashes
    b) no more error (DaemonTools)when playing my blu-ray-iso

i don't have problems either but as it seems sometimes i can take a while, depending on your hardware/osconfiguration for the mounted drive to become available. So for the people who still have this issue we are going to add some extra logic to prevent that from happening.

Sorry for the confusion; I attached my logs to the bug report I submitted (349).

For those of you who don't have the problem - are your .iso files local media? Mine mount over a network share. Both Daemon Tools and Virtual Drive take a couple seconds to mount them and therein lies this problem.

I wish Media Portal handled it like XBMC does - they read .iso natively (no need for mounting in a virtual drive) and movie startups are almost instant.

Mounting Bluray/dvd ISOs over network give me absolutely no problem with 0.7.1. However, because you (and maybe more users) are still having issues i have added some extra checks. I've PM'd the patched 0.7.1 DLL to you.

Can you please try it out and report back if it solves your problem?
Fixed or not fixed can you also post your debug logs after testing?

note: other users with the same issue can PM me for a test dll.
