A case for continued My Picture development (1 Viewer)

You guys forgot one very important feature the my picture plugin needs:
Support for tagged pictures, so you can select pictures by tag or any other info the picture contains.

Any development in my pictures?

Is there any development to My Pictures right now? I spent so many weeks of configuring MP, syncing with my iTunes playlists, catalog all DVDs, music vids, etc. Now when it came to pictures I realized that slideshows are barely usable...

I agree to all ideas in the posts above, they all would be so great to have.
For making My pictures usable I guess the most important and quite simple things (imho) are:

-Playlists (It would already help if MP would follow links, so we can create playlists by shortcuts)

-Full screen (up to scale factor 2 or 3). (I am even happy with fullscreen on/off)

-Assign a music playlist to a picture playlist (saved)

-Gamma setup. An own gamma value in the preferences of "My pictures".


Would be even great to know if there is a chance of seeing some of this features sometime in some future... Is there anybody out there coding even something for My pictures..?

ps. If anybody is interested in a way to automatically sync your audio playlists with your iTunes playlists - just contact me. Its quite easy. I haven`t found a solution here on the pages.

This is the type of info that should be added to the wiki/user guide...I'd definitely like to know how to do that. If you post instructions, I'll update the wiki for you...

The missing feature that brough me here was looking for a way to copy pictures to a USB/Flash drive while browsing through pictures, to make it easier to hand off photos to friends...etc.

Just adding my 2 cents to keep this thread going...but it's disappointing to have your MP humming along playing your movies and music but having to switch it off to use your xbox 360 to watch slideshows.

Is any of you guys having the same problem as i do with mypictures;
It is maxing my cpu out to a 100%. Only a restart of MP fixes this.

What is actually wrong with slideshows? You navigate to a folder and select slideshow. Using the configuration, you can choose the transitions and delays. What other feature do you actually need?

I am using recursive slideshows on a daily basis. Together with a folder.m3u playlist. Works great.


I would however also like to see some "nice to have's".
1. Option for semi-transparent bottom/top-bar with exif decription
2. Show current date/time while slideshow is playing (guess a skinner can do this already?)

Some of the suggestions above do seem very nice:
- Possibility to configure which Exif tags to display (on an overlay OSD)
- Add a "no repeat" option to the random slideshow (at least until everything was shown)
- Support for tagged pictures, so you can select pictures by tag or any other info the picture contains
- upscale to fullscreen

I would love to be able to watch a slideshow of pictures by tag and rating that are stored in different folders.

At the moment a slideshow can only show a certain folder. But I would like to have a slideshow of all of my favourite pictures across all my folders, or all my pictures of a certain person.

This would be a dream feature for me and the biggest lacking element of mp for me at the moment.

I guess that's my issue. With a 2.0Ghz dual core Athlon, my computer can't produce as smooth a transition (Ken Burns) as my xbox. And I also experience skips while playing music when the picture transitions. I guess this could be a system issue but seems odd that I can play hi def videos but not seamlessly pan and zoom a picture and play an mp3 at the same time.
