Do you have your TD card running in diversity mode or dual channel mode? I have a Nova-TD USB stick and it works fine in diversity mode, but only one tuner is listed in mediaportal. When I change it to dual tuner mdoe I can add the second tuner in MP but no tuners will find any channels now. Strange.
So just wondered if you guys run your sin diversity or dual tuner to get mediaportal to recognise it properly.....
I didnt install the software that came with it as I wanted to keep the install "clean" and so just installed drivers. Also, I'm using a roof aerial in main input and one of the aerials that came with it in the other connection, so signal should be ok at least with one tuner.
Do you think I should install all the bundled software and try it with that? I wanted to avoid that though.....
If mediaportal allows me to add the card does that mean the carddefinitions.xml file must be correct or is it possible there could be something set wrong in there still?
When I autoscan in dual tuner mode it just scans through without finding anything (no errors are reported). The channels were already stored anyway (from single tuner mode) and so they should be stored already for at least the first tuner (I checked this). But when I use MP to view already stored channels its just a black screen.
Yes please Colin at least it confirms everything works, not sure how this switching from single mode (diversity) to dual mode works, I know there is a application supplied under miscellaneous folder for doing this.
ps have you done the DVBfix, it applies to "more than one dvb tuner". Not needed on Vista.
I've now installed the DVB microsoft fix and the "2 tuners in WinXP fix". It still has exactly the same problem. It is as if there is no signal, but there must be a good signal on at least one tuner as I use a roof aerial.
I'm using a carddefinition file that someone else created for use with this tv card. As I said before it does allow MP to add the card at least. I tried editing it as the tables entry had pin 4 instead of pin 5 (from graphedit). Still made no difference though. Also, I've been having problems editing the xml file. I use notepad, but sometimes when I save a change MP doesnt recognise the cards anymore. So I edit my changes back to original state and MP still doesn't recognise the card. Strange. Luckily I kept a backup of the file, which allows MP to add the card again straight away.
Would TV Server 3 give better support for the card in this instance?
I will try installing the bundled software next, as you suggested.
Apologies. Despite me having a roof aerial connected to one tuner and the supplied small indoor aerial connected to the other, it wouldn't work. However, I went and bought a signal booster/splitter so that I could use one roof aerial for both tuner connections and now it picks up channels on both tuners! Strange it didn't pick up on the first tuner which was always connected the roof aerial.
Need to check if watching one channel and recording another works.....
