    ouch!

Saving updates? The site-editor doesn't save at all, the only thing there is is a "copy" button, which copies the config-options to the clipboard...

Ohh, not the stand alone regex creator, it's the config part of v0.27 and every time I put categories in they vanish. But when I edited the onlinevideosites.XML file directly they stayed.

    Ok,
Got the groups finally to show up... I didn't realise that a "&" wasn't allowed in the text for the group name...had to use the full "and".

Now to the play option: when I use a proper RSS link (to an RSS xml file)

    <Category xsi:type="RssLink" name="Recent.RSS">http://tviview.abc.net.au/iview/rss/recent.xml</Category>

I get an error - no videos found

If I use a link to the page with the group listed

    <Category xsi:type="RssLink" name="Recent">iview/#/recent</Category>

Then I get a "timed out error"

But I have found that the source for almost every page contains the full list of videos broken out by groups, where <!-- zzzz --> defines the group and is followed by the list. The page also uses Java. The format of the listing is as below:

    <!-- kids -->
    <li><a href="/iview/?series=2572516" id="2572516" title="1293071702">The Owl Series 1</a></li>

If you call a video from a group page it brings up an overlay with the video link and information. Right clicking the link doesn't give any useful options. Left clicking it plays the video.

If I take the href and post is to the end of

    http://www.abc.net.au/

    like

    http://www.abc.net.au/iview/?series=2572516

    The it changes to:

    http://www.abc.net.au/iview/?series=2572516#/series/2572516

and we back to the overlay, this time with no background, and we must click to play.
Each time all this happens there's a loading screen for something (presumably the iView player)

There's also a "email" to a friend options which gives a link to:

    http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/view/425379

which then takes you back to the same overlay to play from. Noting that this is quoted out as a different number.....and leads to this page:

    http://www.abc.net.au/iview/#/program/425379

    Any tips?
    or more things to check?

tried and tried again.... no real progress..... actually I do now understand how the tools work :) but haven't succeeded in making it work. but found this: (but these are now a week of so old so they may not exist as direct links):

    Categories groups under
    <!-- arts -->

Example of string in open html:
    <li><a href="/iview/?series=2778638" id="2778638" title="1295934258">London Live Specials Series 1</a></li>

    Thumbnail image found via fiddler
    http://www.abc.net.au/reslib/201001/r494344_2579059.jpg

    Captions file found via fiddler:
    THEME MUSIC

When we play a file the URL changes to this host and the we get a continuing string of links (below under "start play"
    Host :
    203.18.195.10

    start play:
    http://203.18.195.10/fcs/ident2
    http://203.18.195.10/open/1
    http://203.18.195.10/send/moemSt9FFYMeuLlR/0
    http://203.18.195.10/send/moemSt9FFYMeuLlR/1
    http://203.18.195.10/idle/moemSt9FFYMeuLlR/2

    Any thoughts or tips?

Also I found this downloader for firefox:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/iviewfox/
Which might help us. I might also see is the author can help out a bit....

Well, It seems doable, and as I understand it's using RTMP://, and that's why you can't find it using fiddler (it only captures http://).
But as the generic site-util doesn't support extended rtmp urls (with swfvfy, auth etc) it should be coded in it's own util, which shouldn't be hard given the steps described at the downloaders_wiki.

    So... any volunteers?
