AC3 PID in tv setting i reset automatic (1 Viewer)

How about the fact that the PID gets reset automatically?

as far as i know.
when you tune a channel MediaPortal determins the Audio PID(s) and writes them into the db.

Any way of forcing MP to ONLY use the stereo stream?

try setting the codec to "decode to stereo". i.e. in MPV and Intervide there is such an option.

in MyTV you can also select the audio stream. when viewing.

I tried to REMOVE the ac3 pid from the database but MP puts it back after watching the channel..

If I use decode to stereo then the ac3 is still being used. I want to use stereo stream by default! Not having to watch channel-press F9-choose stream. Possible?

Sorry bur now i close the mediaportal as its to much bugs and special configs anyhow, welltonway works well so i will use that for a while...... but i support the open source movement but i understand that i must wait a year or so..

Is there a solution other than moving to an other software on this
AC3 resetting , I tryed the 0.2.2.0 with same result as before , AC3
makes the video and sound go unsync so I can not use it and to
use keybord and A works only for 3-4 channelswitching cause
MP starts a new AC3 filter every time you press A.........


An other anoying thing with MP:
why do MP need to CLOSE and then reOPEN the codecs used
when you switch channel -> makes LONG channel switching
DBviewer for instance do not need to close and reopen (fast channelswitching)

why is MP resetting this AC3 PID ?? is there a reason or is it a bug ?

today I have to go into config at least 2-4 times / day to reset the ac3 pid

I have the same problem. When I configure the AC3PID to 0, I can watch some channels, but after some time, there is again some other number there and I can nolonger tune to this channel until I change ac3pid back to 0 with the configure-tool.
I think this problem/bug is in mantis (771) but downgraded to minor, because there is a workaround.
Is the workaround to reset the ac3pid via configuration.exe or is there a better one?

I have used sqlbrowser (located in mediaportal\docs) to rename the field ac3pid in the table tbldvcmapping to something else.
Sofar it seems to solve my problem, but I think that there should be a better solution.

Hi. Now I have a tv card as well and has stumbled on this problem.
I have dscaler video codec.
If I choose ac3 sound codec I get sound on all channels, "5.1" on discovery. Problem is sound and video gets jerky.
FFdshow makes the quality great but no sound on discovery. I have set ffdshow to play ac3 but no sounds gets through.

Any hints appriciated, escpecially on FFdshow (or why ac3 makes quality jerky)!
