I am using an HD-PVR with Satellite reception. I had MP running perfectly for a couple of weeks and then I had a display issue and had to reinstall.

Just running the 1.2.3 installation file didn't change anything so I uninstalled from the start menu and then ran the installation program again.

It seemed to go well, however when I booted up MP, I had no access to the TV server. The service is installed and running fine, I can get into the TV server configuration and set it up with no issues. I can verify that the tv server is receiving by going to the manual control and starting a timeshift. The Icons on the desktop were installed and work fine to access both MP & TV server configurations.

I can't watch TV though because I don't have a TV option in my main menu of MP and my GUIDE button on the remote won't pull up the guide. I have Schedules Direct plug-in configured correctly and all the channels are present in the TV configuration.

MP boots fine and plays videos fine. It seems like they are both configured correctly (MePo & TV Server) but there is just no option to access the server functions from the menus...

Does anyone have any idea what is going on or what I can do make the TV options appear in the MP menu?

Hi scoot13,

can you please verify if the tvplugin.dll is located at c:\program files\team mediaportal\mediaportal\plugins\windows ? And then check if in the mediaportal configuration the plugin "TV" is enabled.

Thank you for the reply. That was helpful for sure. The dll was not in the directory but it was in the BACKUP directory. I copied it to the location specified and then "TV" showed up as an option in the MP Config program.

I could edit the "TV" category with no issues but when I select "Plugins", it crashes immediately with the message:

Failed to locate assembly 'TVDatabase, Version=1.2.3.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
Note that the configuration program must be executed from/reside in
the MediaPortal folder, the execution will now end.

    Hello!
    Maybe your TV Database is broken? You can try and repair it with:
    1. Open a Command Prompt
    2. CD C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.1\bin
    3. mysqlcheck mptvdb --auto-repair -u root -p

    when asked password = "MediaPortal"

    You could also provide some logs to see if there is some hint about the problem.
    And if this is a fresh install, maybe it could be helpfull to deinstall and reinstall the whole mepo again. It seems that there was something wrong with the installation.
    You could try to execute the setup with admin rights. I don't know if this is necessary but it can be wrong. Before reinstalling try to copy the whole program folders to a different location to be really shure that all config files are gone.

    It seems that TV client part is not installed, but I don't know how to reinstall only TV client part. But it could help to copy missing DLL files from BACKUP directory.

    Yes, sounds like TVPlugin was not installed correctly. Copying the old DLLs from your backup would work, but then the TVPlugin would still be on 1.2.2 version.

    The TVDatabase assembly (along with a few others) should be located in your MediaPortal dir if TVPlugin was installed correctly.

    Thanks for the advice, I tried what you suggested and it ran successfully. It showed that all the files were OK but now MP config/plugins gives me a different error message:

    Code:
    Failed to locate assembly 'Gentle.Framework, Version=1.5.0.29112,
    Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=80b5de62e27be49b'

    I'm off work today so this is my project :-/

    I can't load the watchdog log because this all happens before mepo is booted. Is there another log that would include what happens in the config program crash?
