I have updated to the latest build (weekly updates) and I can no longer playback recorded tv episodes all i get is a black screen no sound.
I can however playback the recorded files in the like of mediaplayer classic but not power dvd8 , I have tried different codec combinations
but still not working... :(

any idea's?

Make sure it plays in Directshow players like e.g. Windows Media Player.

If you use valid codecs (e.g. PDVD + ffdshow audio) then most likely the registration of tsreader.ax failed (e.g. if VC++ redist package is outdated).

Thanks for the suggestions , it lays in windows mediaplayer ok.
    i reinstalled vcredist_x86.exe (which is 2008 redis)
is there any other way to re-register the tsreader.ax ? as the above did not work :(

    Thanks in advance..

Did you use the VC2008 SP1?

If your system specs were visible I'd know at least your OS.
For vista you need to run cmd.exe with admin permission to register filters.

2008 redist doesn't include previous files. So you need to install the currently used 2005 SP1 version.

Some "testing" stuff (like disaster's builds) requires VC2008 though :(

Then the user needs to install both, those aren't affecting others. Of cource the bugs shouldn't be repored with custom builds. We aren't interested in those at all.

I re-installed mediaportal with disaster's build ... It worked fine ... until the next day... nothing was changed (prob just a reboot) and now it displays a greyish screen with the start of the recording trying to play and then crashes mediaportal.

I have attached my logs if anyone could have a quick look (i wouldn't know where to start :( )
    Thanks In advance....
