The tv screen is black with no audio. Can anyone with AIW experience help me out. All the topics I find in the forum searches are old and prior to 2004. Thanks

Please note this is still a software encoding card - although it ‘offloads’ tasks to the GPU i still requires decent processing horsepower.

You must have either the ATI Multimedia Center 9.13 software installed or have the Windows XP Media Center Edition Encoder from ATI for this to work.

ATI have changed some filters required recently etc. This is what you need to do...

When running the 6-3_encoder_30895.exe program it creates a directory usually here...

    C:\ATI\SUPPORT\6-3_encoder_30895

in there you’ll see a file called Data1.cab - open this with say winzip extract the file atimcenc.dll to a directory of your choice then at the command prompt in that directory type regsvr32 atimcenc.dll this will give you the required filters for MP.

Just a note - perhaps I am doing something wrong, but after registering this dll it still doesn't work for me. I also have the x800xt aiw.

I have ATI MMC 9.13 installed and have used it and it works. I have installed the 6-3_encoder_30895.exe and registered the file like you have said. It still will not work. Later this weekend when I have time I will run the graph for you guys so you can help me out. I do understand that this is only software encoding, but media portal seems pretty nice and I would like to try it with my tuner card. I would not try it if it did not work with the AIW. I do understand that the AIW with the 200 theater chip is a pain in the ass and no one out there has support for it, but since you guys say that media portal works with AIW, although with problems, that I would give it a try. If you know of any other HTPC software that works great with AIW then I will try that out, but I have no luck finding anything.

Please try latest CVS & post your mediaportal.log file after running configuration and trying to add the card.
    Use the pastebin. (http://mp.pastebin.com)

I never did download the newest cvs, but I formatted and redid my os. It now works. I do not have timeshifting and when I record it will not let me watch tv. I did a manual record and tried to play the video and it did not play. WMP could not make out what kind of codec it used. What codecs should I choose for mediaportal?
What are the differences between the codec selection in the settings/tuner card/recordings, and for the codec selection in media portal under settings/tv?

    Do this...

    1. Start MP
    2. Go to MyTV
    3. Switch to a valid channel
    4. Turn on Timeshifting
    5. Then after 15-30 seconds turn off Timeshifting
    6. Exit MyTV
    7. Exit MP

    Post your MediaPortal.log file @ http://mp.pastebin.com
    And link back in here.

I cannot run the timeshift. When in media portal if I try to click on time shift to turn it off or on it will do nothing. Any suggestions?
